Maleficent style staff
pinshape
This is a custom staff designed for a theatrical performance. The body can be easily modified to accommodate various LED sizes by drilling out existing holes or adding new ones as needed. The handle securely holds the battery pack and switch, while the body and handle are connected via three small screws recessed into the bottom of the handle. No pre-drilled screw holes are found in the body, so users must align them manually and drill their own holes to ensure a secure fit. The handle is designed to accommodate a 1-inch pole. The light source was created from a low-cost aluminum flashlight purchased at a dollar store. The top section of the LED compartment was removed approximately an inch from the LEDs, and wires were soldered directly to the battery pack and switch to complete the circuit. The torch head was then attached to the staff body using hot glue. However, users must exercise caution regarding polarity, as incorrect wiring can damage the LEDs. The power switch from the original flashlight was repurposed and should fit snugly into the handle, as demonstrated in the design files. A diffuser is provided, which can be printed in a variety of colors to suit the user's preference. The staff itself was printed using gold PLA, resulting in a transparent finish that allows the color of the diffuser to shine through. For users who prefer a symmetrical appearance, an optional side button model is included. Although this design was completed within a week, some aspects may be unclear due to time constraints. Future improvements are planned, and any confusion or vagueness is deeply regretted. The globe component was printed with 100% infill at 0.8mm walls for optimal structural integrity, while the surrounding areas were printed with 20% infill at 1.2mm walls for a balance of strength and weight reduction.
