Male Torso, Diadumenus Type
thingiverse
Cosmo Wenman took 202 photos of a piece in the Louvre in November 2012, but he could not capture it from all sides due to poor lighting. He processed the photos using ReCap Photo and got better results compared to when he used 123D Catch. The images were then cleaned with Meshmixer and Blender and a base was added. Wenman also captured a "Female Torso, Esquiline Type", which he published alongside the male figure. Both figures turned out nicely when printed at human scale on an Objet printer. Wenman suspects that both figures will print cleanly in PLA without any supports. The torso is part of a prolific series of ancient replicas echoing Polyclitus' Diadumenus, which was produced between 440-430 BCE.
