The sculpture here is a powerful masculine behu lawolo figure, typically crafted as impressive stone statues in honor of ancestors and serving as a lasting reminder. It's possible that it was interred to symbolize masculinity, wealth, and prestige. Now on display at the Quai Branly museum, it was captured for us by a volunteer using approximately 50 photographs. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory. Through Scan the World, we are creating a digital library of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the world that the public can access for free. Scan the World is an open-source community project. If you have interesting items nearby and want to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to learn how you can participate.
