Makita RTO701C Router Mount
thingiverse
This mount is designed for use with a Makita RTO701c (or any 65mm router) and works best when paired with an OpenBuilds double-wide gantry plate on a CNC router. However, you can use it with any plate that has matching hole dimensions after drilling and tapping. The ideal fasteners are m5 socket cap screws, preferably 10mm long. I use them because they provide the necessary support. The first iteration of this mount was not rigid enough, resulting in some chatter during operation. This updated version is much stiffer and allows for significantly faster cutting speeds. It's made from ABS, but printing with PLA or polycarbonate would yield even better results. For more information about this build, please visit the OpenBuilds website at http://openbuilds.org/builds/salmon-sphinx-1-0.4968/. **Update**: I have since created a beefier version of this mount to reduce vibration at higher RPMs. While it requires longer print times and more filament, it's well worth the investment.
