I'm creating a custom shroud for my Makita PW5001C wet stone polisher. My goal is to use a shop vac to collect water from the polisher, minimizing mess and cleanup within an indoor setting. This experiment shows partial success. The TPU material was too rigid and didn't make sufficient contact with the cement. Furthermore, the shop vac attachment wasn't securely fastened. Printed using TPU materials. Unfortunately, the setup didn't work effectively as planned. I ended up not utilizing the shopvac attachment. To improve this design, I need to make two key adjustments. Firstly, thinner walls would allow for a longer shroud and potentially one perimeter thickness. Secondly, the shop vac attachment could benefit from a twist-lock mechanism that securely fastens onto the shroud.
