Makita PA12 to BL14 adapter

Adapter to the old Makita 12v batteries (PA12). Parts needed: - Original 14.4v Makita battery terminal (643850-6) - 6 "computer fan" self-tapping screws - 2 angle 6.3mm terminal connectors - 2 wires and 2 terminal contacts from the Makita battery, or 2 simple 6.3mm terminal connectors. Use it without top part, just solder 6.3mm terminal connectors to terminals in drill. Buttons are for ease of printing, making it "impossible" to take off adapter without unscrewing these buttons. Fusion 360 shared model: https://a360.co/31YQaGl Not fully tested yet. After assembly, fit it to Makita cordless drill and battery on, push button... smoke comes out of my battery. Looks like short circuit in drill (not used for 10 years) or old motor requires more than 15 amps at start (battery has 15 amp fuse). Let me know how it works.
