Makita / Festool Track Saw Guide Rail Holder

Complete redesign of 3DDIY's nifty print-in-place guide rail holder. As I wanted to hang my rails on a garage door, I needed something a bit stronger and more secure. Also wanted to be able to mount these with the rubber strip facing up to avoid damaging it. So I designed a two-piece version that is much more akin to the "inspiration" FastCap product that you can buy for $20+ per pair.

Pretty self-explanatory. Print one base and one nut in the default STL orientations (flat for the nut and on the side for the base). This will give the best strength and will require no supports.

Assemble base to nut with one M6 x 20mm hex bolt and nut. You can play with the orientation of the M6 nut and/or bolt to insure that it is "tight" when the holder's nut is in the down/locked position.

Designed to use a pair of 1-1/4" pocket hole screws for mounting, though obviously any similar flat-bottom screw will do.

I suggest ABS, PETG, or other more structurally sound filament. I printed these with PETG using a 6mm nozzle at 0.28mm layer height and 3 walls. Plenty strong. Super pleased with how they turned out.

Enjoy!
