Makita compact router model RT700C proves itself a reliable choice for small CNC machines, but one major drawback arises from the air blowing downward, causing dust to fly erratically throughout the area. However, this issue can be mitigated by using an attachment that redirects the airflow upwards at a 30-degree angle. To secure the collet nut in place, users must first remove it and then press the lock button firmly into its locked position. Next, insert a small zip tie through the holes provided and wrap it around one of the metal fins, securing the nut tightly. Although specifically designed for the RT700C model, this mounting system should also fit other Makita routers, including the US version RT0701CX7 and the XTR01Z 18v. To create this attachment, users will need to print it with a material that can withstand high temperatures, such as ABS or PETG.
