A tiny flathead Phillips bit that simply rests inside the box is usually included. Keeping this little tool attached to your drill when it's not in use is definitely a great way to prevent losing it. I too wanted to find a better way to handle my spare bit, so I came up with an attachment solution for holding the extra piece on top of the drill, keeping it firmly locked and tensioned.
