This user transformed joeynovak's work into an updated version suitable for any 18-volt tool. By using the adapted design, they were able to convert a $34 Porter Cable jigsaw and a Ryobi 18-gauge brad nailer to use Makita batteries. They printed the adapters with varying fill rates (100% for ABS and 40% for PLA) and recommended using Slic3r version 0.9.0 for easier removal of support material. To ensure strength, they applied ABS glue to the PLA-printed adapter but noted that it's not necessary with PLA. They used metal straps with holes, commonly used by plumbers, for connectors and electrical wires for original connections. A hot glue gun was used for flexibility, and screwing the adapters wasn't successful. Enjoy your converted tools!
