MAKITA 12V MODULAR UPS POWER SUPPLY
thingiverse
I have created this modular cover for my Makita 12v battery so I can use it like a small UPS for my router and fiber optics module to ensure a constant internet connection. My house is off-grid with solar panels and a li-ion battery. If something happens to any of the inverters, they will cut power if there's any problem, but I'll be able to connect them only if I have power on my internet system even when I'm not at home. I've also added a hole to mount a 12v car USB power supply or you can install a 12v car cigarette socket. For turning it on and off, you can use a regular 20mm 12v switch. The idea is to connect the two 12v power sockets for the router and the fiber line on the inlet; they will always keep the battery charged. The battery will have a connected 12v regulator to stabilize the voltage even if it drops while using it. My router and fiber line control box use both of them 5,5x2,1mm regular power sockets. Also, I'll add a BMS to protect the battery. You can also use this to power up other things and customize the internal or electronics. BMS: 3S BMS as shown in the photos. DC-DC: LM2596S DC-DC 4.5-40V.
