Creating a DIY ruler stop is a simple project that requires minimal tools and materials. To start, gather a small piece of wood, a pencil, a drill press, and some wood glue. Cut the wood into a long, thin rectangle with a flat surface on one end. Draw a line along the length of the ruler, parallel to the edge where you want it to stop. Use a drill press to make two holes on either side of the line, about 1/4 inch apart. Then, use a small nail or screw to attach a tiny metal clip or spring-loaded clip to hold the ruler in place. Next, cut a small notch at one end of the ruler where you want it to stop. Use wood glue to secure the metal clip or spring-loaded clip to the ruler, making sure it fits snugly into the notch. Finally, use a pencil to mark the point where the ruler will stop and attach a small piece of tape to hold it in place while you work on the final touches. Now your DIY ruler stop is complete and ready for use.
