Making quick fluid filters
thingiverse
To rapidly fabricate low-cost fluid filters for a prototype, stop the 3D printer after the raft layer prints but before the object begins to form. Utilize the printed raft as your filter, with pore size contingent on the layers that print; one layer yields 1mm gaps, multiple layers result in 50-100 micron pores. Customize the design by trimming outer edges or creating specialized holders. This technique is an alternative to the mesh screen approach and can be executed using a normal resolution UP!3D printer.
