I fell in love with 3d printing and seemed to lack designs for useful items. So some friends and I have been playing around with this 'MakeWiths' construction platform. Since most of us don't have large-scale printers, we figure why not design pieces that can assemble into useful things.

Previous projects:

Quadcopter - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1802451

General Parts - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2471772

Print + Screws and O-rings = Omniwheel - https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2480783

Introducing a construction platform that is 3D printed and also has considerations for injection-mold/extrusion should it ever make sense. I liken it to a big-kid legos or erector set that I miss from my youth, lol. Now we can influence and design our own parts, with our own rules and determined best-practices.

I'm not finished yet with this 3d printer, as I want to revisit some items, but am moving across country and don't know when I'll get back to this. If you are interested in joining in, I will happily share the parts. I have learned Onshape since it has the free accounts for public files with collaboration and version control, etc. So from ideas to design and help testing I think we could all have input to make the most useful parts possible, while solving problems and promoting STEM learning.

Printer Todo:

I need to print the clone to support the 2nd MK3 I have, but that one has no MMU2 yet and maybe never will

I want to revisit the 'floor' panels to make more rigid. Currently 3mm thick with 5% infill

Add lights, that are in the mail. May need a Tslot adapter to mount them if not the adhesive that comes with

I have a concept of a Power Supply mount to get that guy out of the enclosure and intend for it to rotate into position with the Tslot

Certainly open to constructive criticism and comments. I included the main connection parts…if they don't work on your setup ('click' nicely), I wouldn't move forward. Thank you for checking this out!

Print Suggestions: PETG 0.32 layer heights for speed, 5 solid layers with 5% infill, with an MK3S+ with MMU2 and stock MK3S+
