MakerTron System
pinshape
This modular system is based on the pin layout of the original design, allowing for better customization by breaking down into 2 parts: arms and legs. Each part can be inserted into the other, as they share the same pin connection. However, all pins are fused in the parts except for those on the legs, giving them a better grip and mobility. The design features unique elements that set it apart from others. Decorations on each part create a consistent style throughout. This system can be printed at 0.2 layer height with an infill of 5-10%. To make the walls sturdy, add more loops - around 1mm (using a 0.4mm nozzle is fine for 2 loops, which can be increased to 3). Use automatic settings or software like Meshmixer to create supports. The parts on the left side of the body must be mirrored to get the right side. MakerTrons are rebuilt with different features, offering two classic setups: speed and strong. The speed setup is a fast bot with a light structure and good agility, while the strong setup is a heavy-duty bot for big jobs. However, Makerbots can use two methods to gain even more power: personalization and combination. They can choose from 4 different heads that provide skills over their chosen limbs or combine parts in various ways. A STR series can easily connect to a SPD series to create a new powerful limb with shared skills. The barrels and round covers on the limbs conceal the technology of the MakerTrons, giving each part its own characteristics. See the pictures for detailed descriptions of the individual parts.
