Every minute, at least one woman loses her life due to pregnancy or childbirth complications. The World Health Organization confirms this alarming statistic. UPDATE 2012-12-15: A meeting went extremely well; we're now collaborating with the WinSenga team in 2013! Our first priority is acquiring an antenatal care medical manikin/simulator. If anyone has one to donate, please let us know! UPDATE 2012-12-04: We're excited to meet the WinSenga team this week! They're visiting the US for meetings and receiving their Microsoft Imagine Cup award. Inspired by the remarkable work of the WinSenga team, we created a MakerBottable Pinard horn, a 19th-century fetal stethoscope. This MakerSenga, named after the local Ugandan term for midwife, allows trained practitioners to diagnose fetal health or, when paired with the end cap microphone, anyone using the WinSenga software!
