MakerScanner v0.3 B&D Laser Line Level mount
thingiverse
Modify your MakerScanner for the BDL220S Black & Decker Laser Line Level's wall mount. The scanner leverages the magnetic rotational bearing in the wall mount, making it a cost-effective choice available at Lowe's and Ace Hardware. This integration results in a sturdy, smooth-rotating scanner. The base is removable for transport or regular use. If needed, Black & Decker sells extra base units through their parts replacement center. To install, lightly sand the tab cutouts to fit snugly into the wall mount with the pivot pointing down. No glue should be necessary for a secure connection. Align the laser mount base from MakerScanner 0.3 and secure it if desired using a steel rod. Orientation isn't crucial, but aligning straight down the channel should suffice. Apply superglue around the seam for added security. For surveying enthusiasts, a simple modification will enable the scanner to function as a surveying tool. If angle accuracy is essential, use software against a flat target like a wall and apply trigonometry to calculate the angle. After calculating the formula, fix the wheel and angle dial with superglue for accuracy. Share your calibration results to update instructions once completed.
