Makergear M3 Cooler to M2 Conversion

Makergear M3 Cooler to M2 Conversion

cults3d

This is a conversion to run the Makergear M3 cooler setup on an M2 with a V4 nozzle. Designed to use the stock 50mm bed fan of the M2, this setup requires enlargement of the SE Cooling Duct.STL to 126% in your slicer before printing. Failing to do so will result in the cooler not fitting the fan, bracket or lining up with the nozzle. The 50mm stock fan mounts to the new cooler and bracket using (1) M3x25mm and (3) M3x20mm bolts. The bracket attaches to the extruder drive with a M3 x 40mm bolt. If you use fan guards, a longer bolt may be needed due to space constraints. The bracket may hit the older style octagon z knobs when the head is parked, but this has not been tested as the author no longer possesses an older model printer. A reference image can be seen in the third picture. This bracket was designed for printers with stock extruders, although it has not been used by the author due to a modified setup featuring a different bracket shown in the fifth picture. The cooler location remains unchanged. Results from using this setup can be found below. It's worth noting that fan guards are not included in this setup as they restrict airflow and create noise issues. SE_Cooling_Duct.STL was created by "Makergear", with all rights and attributions for the 3D model going to Makergear.
