Makergear M2 V4 Hotend Easy Access Filament Drive Version 2
thingiverse
Easy access filament drive for the Makergear M2 with a V4 hotend designed. I have integrated a rotating nut that will enable you to rotate the machine screw out of the way in order to make it easy to remove the bearing section and access the filament. This version has two slots for Machine screws in order to give more even tension to the filament idler bearing. This is a Remix/Combination of the original Makergear V4 Filament Drive, incorporating the bottom latch part of Narosenberg's Easy access design with some modifications for improvement. Printer Settings: Printer: Makergear M2 Rafts: Not necessary at all. Supports: Yes, use them to help hold prints in place during printing. Resolution: Choose 0.1mm or 0.2mm, depending on the type of object you are making. Infill: Make sure to fill objects with 50% or higher infill density for best results. Post-Printing: To make the pivoting nut, I cut a long 1/4" Carriage bolt in half and drilled holes to accept two M3x0.5 socket head hex machine screws. Each machine screw will need to be about 25mm long, so if necessary you can shorten longer bolts by cutting them. Be careful not to use a Grade 8 Bolt as they are very hard to drill and tap (I broke my tap while trying to thread one).
