MakerGear M2 Spring Loaded Filament Drive
thingiverse
I got fed up with constantly adjusting the tension on the standard M2 filament driver, so I picked up a couple pre-existing models (Stock hotend from MakerGear.com) and built a direct drive, spring-loaded filament driver myself. V2 has a thicker attachment for the throat and some crumple zones to make it easier to attach the throat assembly. Tomorrow's test will show if it works, and maybe I'll update later. V3 tried to improve filament loading - but that didn't work either. BOM: Stock M2 Filament drive bolts Stock Fans and Fan mount--- Current Revision (V2) requires tilting the nozzle fan at a weird angle, which makes cooling the nozzle almost impossible. Now addressing this issue. 2 extra-long (M3x50) screws [PN 43647-H from Ace] 2 moderate tension springs [PN 540941 from Ace] 1 cotter pin [PN 43322-H from Ace] The cotter pin keeps the swing arm in place. If you're not comfortable with it, you might want to add a few washers to the throat cooling fan mount to move the fan blades away from the cotter pin edge. All other hardware was taken from spare parts that came with the MakerGear.
