This is a versatile alternative spool holder designed specifically for the Makergear M2 3D Printer. So far, it works seamlessly with every spool I've acquired from multiple sources, and it appears to be compatible with almost any supplier's stock. Unlike the original spool holder design, which relies on a functional flange, this solution removes that limitation entirely. It still utilizes all the standard mounting hardware and makes no changes to the printer itself. The spool can accommodate massive loads, including those from 5lb rolls without issue - my PLA-printed unit functions perfectly. The extension piece is fashioned from 1/2 inch schedule 40 PVC tube cut down to precisely 5 1/2 inches (You should be able to find a 4-foot length for about $1.25 at Menard's or Lowes in your area). I've included an .stl file for the tube itself if you prefer to print it. Notably, I managed to complete all necessary prints within under one hour of start-up time.
