Makergear M2 Geeetech LCD Enclosure and Mount, based on design by kartcrg
thingiverse
This is an excellent method for mounting your Geeetech LCD panel on your Makergear M2 printer at a comfortable viewing height and out of harm's way. The design, based on one by kartcrg, features thicker ribs for added stability as well as increased wall thickness in several areas. I also added an M2 logo to the front and reduced the knob hole diameter slightly. Assembly requires M3 hardware and custom spacers - two long and two short - to secure the parts in place. To create these spacers, I used pieces of teflon tubing, which I cut to size. The SLDPRT files are compatible with Solidworks 2015, but if you require another file format, just let me know and I'll try to export it for you. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerGear Printer: M2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: Standard settings; no need to fuss Infill: 60% or higher Notes: For optimal results, make sure the large flat surfaces are positioned down on the bed. On my M2 printer, this two-part assembly took approximately 5 hours to print. Post-Printing Trim to fit The first layer of your printer may result in a bit of extra material on the back mount's edge, so trim it to comfortably fit into the rear bezel. I used a deburring tool for this step. Additionally, you will want to drill out the 10 screw holes using a #30 drill or a 1/8" bit, making it easy for M3 screws to pass through.
