There are numerous alternative hot-end fan mounts available for the MakerGear M2 that strive to boost airflow precisely where it's needed. However, most of these options require a modified mounting assembly for the hot end. This particular design integrates seamlessly with the standard mount - in front and still capable of pivoting out of the way for access. As of May 12, 2015, there exists an additional version that showcases a more aggressive rectangular output. A noticeable distinction can be observed between this iteration and the original design. Printing larger objects often results in uneven cooling using this variant, so it's recommended to only employ it when creating items with extremely thin structures. On March 7, 2016, yet another enhanced version became available. It boasts an oval opening that effectively directs airflow precisely where needed, surpassing its predecessor and even performing slightly better than the second more aggressive model. Nevertheless, a perfect uniform flow remains unattained due to air solely coming from one direction. Fortunately, this design is significantly better than its predecessors.
