MakerGear M2 Ducted Fan Mount
myminifactory
There are numerous alternative hot-end fan mounts available for the MakerGear M2 designed to boost airflow precisely where needed, but most of them necessitate a modified mounting assembly for the hot end. This particular design attaches just like the standard mount -- in front -- and still allows pivoting out of the way for easy access. As of May 12, 2015, an upgraded, more aggressive version with a rectangular outlet became available. Observe the difference in the third image. The more aggressive version tends to cause uneven cooling on larger objects, so I do not recommend it unless you are printing items with very thin structures. Since March 7, 2016, there's been a new version that aims air flow just about perfectly. It features an oval opening similar to the first version but points more directly where we need the air, and it works -- even better than the second version, which seems to suffer from pressure loss due to its rectangular outlet. The catch is that this third version still doesn't produce perfectly even airflow because all the air comes from one side. Still, it performs better than the other two versions.
