Makerfarm Snap-on LED Mounting Tray
thingiverse
I have been relying on adhesive-backed LED strips to illuminate my print bed on my Makerfarm Prusa i3v 8" printer, but the adhesive eventually gave way and the strips ended up stuck in my print. Determined to find a solution, I set out to design a clip-on tray that would securely hold the LED strips in place without necessitating adhesives directly onto my carriage frame. I envisioned a lightweight, flexible holder that would easily fasten around the edge of my bed without compromising the stability of my printer or causing obstructions to any components. After several revisions and trial runs, I finally had a functional prototype. These adhesive-backed LEDs I am using are ideal for illuminating small workspaces such as the print bed. I can purchase them on Amazon. It's worth noting that this design will not be compatible with most auto bed leveling systems; however, one of my users managed to adapt it to meet these requirements by making a slight adjustment on the left-hand side of the tray to accommodate the space required for an auto-leveling servo system. An Update: The designer has verified compatibility between this add-on part and the Clough42 Improved Hexagon Cooling Shroud system. Assembly: Firstly, the clip is designed to be printed in 3 pieces, which must be assembled with strong adhesive by mating one side groove into a matching back slot of the left or right part. Next step, trim down any unwanted led material using utility cutting scissors or any craft knives. Make sure your cutting action runs at angles to prevent scratching off the existing coating that's bonded on top for better adherence properties; apply generous amount after application too make things work better sometimes they really don't need so little time anyway... cut off any stray strings because who doesn’t like perfection here. Inserting those nice pretty shiny LEDs isn't as complicated process once mounted though remember screw driver won’t do much unless used alongside something which we cannot talk about publicly sorry .
