Makerfarm Prusa I3v ZAxis Protectors
thingiverse
The Z Axis screws on my Makerfarm Prusa i3v sit vulnerably exposed, simply waiting for an object to strike and deform them. Fortunately, these protective end caps shield them from damage. Crafted to fit snugly over 625 size bearings, which I just happen to have stored away from my ShapeOko, these safeguards ensure a worry-free build experience. Notice how the left side protector seamlessly integrates with the bottom plate of the spool holder, as clearly visible in the accompanying image.\n\nOn August 14th, 2014, an important update was implemented: the STL files for the bearing were generated without undergoing the full modeling process, considering that this feature isn't absolutely essential. This adaptation acknowledges the fact that most users might not have access to 625 size bearings from their own stock, thereby streamlining the overall design.\n\nIf you're new to 3D modeling like I am, feel free to refer to these instructions for a trouble-free creation experience. The left side of the protective cap was expertly designed using Designspark mechanical, whereas the right side, combined with the spool holder plate, boasts a sophisticated OpenSCAD implementation.
