MakerFarm Prusa i3v Improved End Stop Switch Brackets

<p>The new MakerFarm Prusa i3v printer (with the aluminum V-Slot extrusions) is solid and smooth, but the end-stops leave a little to be desired. The Z stop requires splitting the wood and is still difficult to get aligned to engage the X idler properly. The X stop won't move far enough to the right to use all of the glass. The Y stop is mounted upside down so the screw in the bed engages the hinge end of the switch lever. These all appear to be compromises to allow the zip ties to fit into the extrusion slot.</p> <p>These printed end stop mounting brackets solve all of these problems.</p> <p>The Z stop bracket mounts on the side of the extrusion to engage the bottom of the X idler cleanly. The X stop turns the switch vertical and is notched out to fit around the interfering bolts. And the Y stop flips the switch over to allow the sensitive end of the lever to engage the screw in the bed.</p> <p>UPDATE: I just uploaded a new version of the X end stop with a tab to zip-tie the cable.</p> <p>All of the brackets are shaped to fit the v-slot in the extrusion for correct alignment and easy adjustment.</p> <p>Use M2.5x10 or M2.5x12 screws to mount the switches to the brackets. The holes are sized for direct tapping. Drilling may be required, depending on how your printer is adjusted. You can also just drill the holes out to the right size so the screws cut their own threads.</p> <p>NOTE: I also have an adjustable Z end stop that you may wish to consider: <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:336665">http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:336665</a></p> <h3>Instructions</h3> <p>Mount the switches to the brackets using M2.5x10 or M2.5x12 screws.
