MakerFarm Prusa i3v Heavy Duty X Carriage for Bulldog XL Extruder. Update: 12/11/2018 - Completely revised this design, moving the extruder mounting closer to the X-axis rail to reduce deflection under acceleration and deceleration. Compliance slots were added to the extruder mount location as well. - The fan bracket was removed from the X-Carriage and replaced with a stepper motor mount bracket where a small squirrel cage-type fan can be mounted. - Material type was changed to ABS from PLA to prevent deformation under higher print bed temperatures. PLA can still be used if you prefer, but only at lower print bed temperatures. - Note that users of laser-cut wood frame Makerfarm printers should be aware that taking the print bed up to high temperatures for printing ABS could cause the wood to warp. To mitigate this risk, a .060" aluminum sheet was added to reinforce the print bed.
