MakerFarm Prusa i3 LED ring

thingiverse

This work-in-progress project features a six LED ring mounted on the X carriage of a MakerFarm Prusa i3, illuminating the workspace. The original design had some issues with thin channels and ring thickness causing potential damage. However, an updated version (V2) has been developed, offering improved clearance, reduced complexity, and enhanced durability. V1 remains available for those who may find it useful. The latest iteration (3.1) includes an increased captured nut hole size and a lip on the back to maintain ring alignment. Detailed instructions are provided for both versions, with V2 requiring minimal filing adjustments. Default print settings should suffice, with 2mm self-tapping screws used for attachment. LEDs from RadioShack offer super bright lighting, and a helpful link to a LED/Resistor calculator is included: http://ledcalculator.net/. Users are advised to exercise caution and proceed at their own risk. Further improvements are planned in the near future.
