I update 2/16/2019: I made a thicker version of this clamp in 10/18, which keeps the belt centered on the 2020. But I never uploaded it because of PARADOXICLES comments about issues with it. So this morning, I quickly revised the OpenSCAD file to make both the original thinner thickness and the thicker version work together smoothly. I have been using X-CarriageBeltClamp_Thick_rev52.stl for months now without any problems, but I haven't tested the new version called X-CarriageBeltClamp_Thin_rev52.stl yet. This was designed to replace wire tie bolts on my i3v 10". It might work on the 8" & 12" versions too, so I've used two M3x16mm socket head bolts and locknuts to secure it in place. I noticed that when installed, the top of the belt is not perfectly parallel with the extrusion as I expected. There's room to adjust the design slightly, but it may not be a big issue. I printed this clamp for one hour without any problems so far. Update 6/3/2015: I uploaded rev18, but I haven't printed or tested this new version yet. To make it more parallel with the top inside of the aluminum extrusion, I moved the belt connection up by 1.5mm in rev18 compared to the previous one. The clearance between the top of this clamp and the extrusion remains the same. Update 6/4/2015: I added rev19, which was then printed out, but not yet installed on my printer. This new version makes the top of the belt match perfectly with the top of the clamp - about 1.3mm above rev18 or 2.8mm above rev17. Instructions If you prefer, either print out the STL file directly or feel free to modify the OpenSCAD file however suits your needs.
