MakerFarm i3v Print Cooling Fan Mounts
thingiverse
I created an existing printed X carriage side mount to serve as the basis for this fan mount design. I extended its length and angled it to accommodate the mounting of Lulzbot TAZ 6 cooling fan ducts and standard 40mm fans. Minor modifications might be necessary for the fan ducts to clear hot end wiring and extruder nozzle heater block. The addition of these fan mounts and ducts significantly reduced edge warping I was experiencing while printing PLA due to overcooling caused by generally directed cooling fan air blowing all over one side of the print. To assemble this design, you will need to slightly drill out the holes for screws. In my case, I drilled out for M3 screws, and some minor filing may be required for an M3 nut trap to secure mounting. The Design Process I navigated various YouTube tutorials as a beginner in Fusion 360 to develop this mount. I drew it for one side only, then mirrored it in Cura as needed to create matching left and right-hand sides. Both are included here along with the .STEP and .f3d files.
