This is a spool holder designed specifically for the Makerfarm Pegasus 12-inch printer. The innovative design incorporates integrated bearings that enable the spool to glide smoothly on them. Version 1.2 represents the latest iteration of this design, and although I'm still refining it, the current release has shown promising results. One notable improvement is the positioning of the bearings, which are now just barely above the plane of the spool. In contrast, earlier versions featured bearings that rode higher, effectively meeting my initial requirements but not fully aligning with my creative vision. To assemble this spool holder, you'll need four 608zz bearings, 128 mm (5 inches) of 8 mm (or 5/16-inch) threaded rod, and three 8 mm (5/16-inch) nuts. I've implemented a reinforced design by doubling up the nut on the back of the mount and tightening the front nut for added stability. For a visual demonstration of this spool holder in action, please refer to the timelapse video I've shared: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujYHYi-3-NU The openSCAD file used for design purposes is quite rudimentary, reflecting my preference for simplicity. However, I must admit that it may only make sense to me at this point, and further modifications or hacking might be necessary to fully appreciate its functionality. Thanks, Nicolaas Print Settings: Printer: Makerfarm 12 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 50% Notes: You don't need the 50% infill; I was also testing my printer while printing this spool holder.
