MakerFaire Robot adapted for Water Jet (or laser) Cutting

I designed these robots to be given out at MakerFaire Pittsburgh 2015 by my company. They are adaptable to 2D cutting. I initially used our Water Jet CNC machine to cut them out of craft foam, but they also look fantastic in acrylic! One has a looped design for attaching to a key ring and the other is just the base robot. Our current scaling method produces a little robot that is about 2 inches tall by 1.9 inches wide, perfect for a keychain. Halving the size makes it a great earring too! How I Came Up With This Design I started with the trace bitmap tool in Inkscape to get the basic shape of these robots. Then, I cleaned up their lines and adjusted them for 2D cutting using SolidWorks. After that, I exported the design from SolidWorks as a DXF file and scaled it down one last time using DraftSight for finalizing everything.
