Makerbot Replicator Mini+ (plus) Spool Holder and Filament Guide
thingiverse
The spools that fit the Makerbot Replicator Mini+ are small and sometimes you want to hook up the machine to larger spools, but these won't fit in the machine. This spool holder solves this problem for you with an easy clip to stick on the back of your Makerbot. There are three spool holder designs: These designs are compatible with all spools, but they don't fit great because they're sitting loose... All spools are compatible, including wider spools up to 80mm in width. However, they're still sitting loose... A 50-millimeter design is perfect for spools with a 50 mm hole that need to fit better. This design comes with a pin that can be used to tighten the spool on the holder. Two pin holes are provided for spools with a total thickness of 70 and 80mm, and you can even drill a 4mm hole in the spool holder for smaller spools. And there are two filament guide designs: When using the loose-spool-holder, it's still small and there's plenty of room to attach the normal filament guide. However, when using the 50mm spool holder, the attachment clip is too big to use the normal filament guide. The actual guide block needs to sit right next to the spool, so I've designed a high filament guide that you can attach and which takes in the filament on top of the spool instead. This all started with a remake of the Makerbot Replicator Mini Spool Holder: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:751182 Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator Mini+ Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.20 Infill: 20% Notes: The filament guide does not require any supports! Printing supports will leave you with a lot of cleanup for the small hole. The 50mm spool holder should be printed on a 0.20 mm resolution, without supports and with a 10% infill. A 20% infill is okay but will add about 1.5 hour extra print time!
