MAKERBOT REPLICATOR 2 SERVICE TRAY

MAKERBOT REPLICATOR 2 SERVICE TRAY

cults3d

This simple tray is designed for hassle-free servicing of any part of the Replicator 2 printer head. I discovered that repeated disassembly of the front fan and heat sink put unnecessary stress on wires powering the fan, ultimately causing them to break and require costly soldering repairs. This tray aims to resolve this issue by providing a sturdy platform for parts during servicing. The two arms are positioned first. On either side of the printer head, place the hook end of each arm over the initial rail, situated between the drive belt and under the second rail. Twist the arm and compress the rails into their corresponding slots. Then secure the tray by carefully compressing the pegs on both arms into the holes on the sides of the tray, securing one side before moving to the other. This was my inaugural attempt to solve the problem, and while it may not be a sophisticated design solution, it gets the job done efficiently. Feel free to remix and improve upon this design as you see fit.
