Makerbot Replicator 2/2X Ramps Conversion + Heated Bed + E3D

A friend has acquired a used Replicator 2 with many issues that need fixing, so I've decided to convert it into a Ramps 1.4 + Arduino setup due to the high cost of MakerBot spare parts, which are beyond my budget, and my preference for Open Source systems. To make it more affordable, I also want to maximize the print area and add a heated bed to prevent PETG materials from warping. After researching online, I came across this excellent topic that served as a great starting point for me. Thanks to it, I realized someone had already done this conversion, so I've decided to give it a try myself. This post is dedicated to sharing the information and modifications I made to get it up and running. Here's an update on my progress - I'll be adding more details as the project unfolds. __/!\ Disclaimer /!\__ I'm sharing my experience in hopes of helping others who are interested. Please note that you'll be making any modifications at your own risk, which will void any warranty or other guarantees.
