This isn't an actual MK9 extruder; I simply referred to it as such. My device is a Makerbot Thing-o-Matic with issues with my original MK6+ and a broken MK7 (a fake). To fix this, I combined the filament guide with the MK6 nozzle. Instead of a NEMA 23 stepper motor, it has a smaller NEMA 17, and it works with the standard options of MK6 (0.5mm).
