Check out this thingiverse group: http://www.thingiverse.com/groups/things-with-leds/things I created an extruded LED Makerbot logo using my dual extruder... First, I took a JPEG of the Makerbot logo and traced it in Solidworks... Then, I extruded and filleted the logo and saved it as its own STL to be used in dual extrusion... Next, I designed a plate around the logo, added holes for screws and saved that as its own STL... Finally, I designed a shell to go around the plate and logo, the shell has aligned screw holes so it can be fastened to the plate... I printed the shell in regular black PLA on my Rep 2 using two extruders... And I used Bendlay (check out the link below) for the dual extrusion of the plate because it's extremely translucent - 91% of light passes through. Now, I hooked up an RGB LED strip to the inner shell and connected it to an IR receiver so it can be controlled with a remote... I've also made these logos, designs for LED hookup...
