16Jan16 @ 20:16 This is a print cooling fan that I designed for my Makerbot i3Pro. The one I found was unable to work with my hotend due to nozzle orientation and height issues, so I decided to design my own. I struggled with printing my first nozzle design because I had no print cooling capabilities. To make it easier, I modified it to be printed without cooling. Cutting away the extra support material that I added to prevent overhangs will have to wait until later. A cleaner version of this fan will be uploaded after you've installed and tested this one. A generic 12V 50mm Blower Fan 5015 (50x50x15mm) from ebay was used for this design, which works great so far. Various fasteners were scavenged from my R/C parts bin. Sorry for the lack of details; my printer is currently in storage and I've had too many ales to get it out right now. All the parts were printed using Makergeek grey PLA set at 207C in the hotend and 60C for the bed. Moving the wiring to the other side of the print head was necessary, as well as rotating the extruder motor either 90 or 180 degrees. The orientation of the nozzle throat may vary depending on how far it's threaded in. Keep in mind that this design is based on my specific hotend nozzle placement, which might be lower or higher than others. Adjusting the nozzle throat rather than altering its dimensions would be a better approach. I've uploaded STL files, but they're incorrectly oriented due to an oversight with Slic3r. If you encounter any issues, please let me know so I can upload corrected files. Please leave a comment and share your thoughts on this design!
