MakerBot Headphone Stand - Toluco Remix
thingiverse
After reading numerous reviews of the Makerbot Headphone Stand, many users complained that the flat top and sharp edges were causing irreversible dents on their headphone padding, some even becoming permanent. It's clear why: headsets are designed to fit snugly around curved heads. Determined to improve the design, I decided to remix the original version by adding a curved piece on top. The photos showcase this additional component compared to the original model. When I imported the original design into Fusion360, it proved to be highly complex with numerous faces, forcing me to simplify the mesh in the process. Unfortunately, this removed the Makerbot logo from underneath, but it did result in a slightly simpler design that prints faster. No supports or rafts are required to print this stand. The overhanging parts print exceptionally well if your printer is properly calibrated. I used my Sony Gold wireless headphones for measurements, which are featured prominently in the finished photos.
