MakerBot Flower
thingiverse
In my first MakerBot venture, I crafted a striking white flower using Inventor. To design it, I drew a 0.25-inch diameter circle in the center of the plane and followed up with an ellipse touching its top. Then, I leveraged the circular pattern tool to create the petals. After extruding the flower, I saved it as both .ipt and .stl files. I transferred the latter onto my flash drive, connected it to the Thing-O-Matic computer, and let the software generate G Code. While it was processing, I prepared the printer by setting the plastic color to white and heating the platform and extruder. The whole process took approximately 25 minutes.
