We encountered persistent printing issues with our Makerbot 2x at the lab, prompting us to optimize its performance. Noting that the tube guiding filament to the extruder was frequently dislodged, we devised a solution to rectify this problem. We measured our 3D printer and designed custom rings that maintain a precise distance between the filament and wire tube, enabling the required curvature and angle for seamless extrusion. Additionally, we created small tubes to ensure the filament is perfectly centered within the extruder, eliminating tension. After manufacturing four units, they have functioned flawlessly, underscoring their importance in maintaining printer performance.
