MakerBot Digitizer LaserCat - Layer thickness tests Free 3D print model
cgtrader
The MakerBot Digitizer laser scanned the Laser Cat model to test various layer thicknesses. A reduced cat was created at a height of 50 mm, then printed using the following layer heights: \n- 0.40 mm (400 microns) - average diameter of human hair follicles \n- 0.30 mm (300 microns) \n- 0.20 mm (200 microns) \n- 0.10 mm (100 microns) \nThe six scaled down cats were 3D printed on a MakerBot Replicator 2 using TRUE BLUE PLA plastic heated to 230 degrees C. Each layer was created with standard settings as provided by MakerWare: \n(400 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, printing speed at 90 mm/s \n(300 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, printing speed at 90 mm/s \n(200 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, printing speed at 90 mm/s \n(100 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, printing speed at 90 mm/s \n(50 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, reduced printing speed to 60 mm/s \n(20 microns) - infill of 15% and perimeters of two, significantly decreased printing speed to 40 mm/s.
