Makerbot 5th Gen Re-Spool Handle
thingiverse
I created this tool to enable the use of third-party filament on my Makerbot 5th Gen printer. The proprietary spools they come with make it challenging to work with third-party PLA. To simplify the process, I came up with a way to re-spool the Makerbot spool with new filament. To achieve this, I designed a spinning handle that fits perfectly into one of the openings on the side of the spool. This design requires some assembly - you'll need a tapered wood screw to secure the inner handle and the clip together for it to work properly.
