MakerBeam Launch Pad
prusaprinters

I wanted to create an easy to use and set up launch pad for my model rockets using MakerBeam as a small launch rail for my low to mid power rockets.

It was important for me to design the launch pad so that it is quick and easy to change between rail's or lower a rail to easily load a rocket. I have achieved this by using drop nose pins to secure the rail to the stand, they can be very easily and quickly removed to swap rails or the top pin can be removed to pivot the rail down for loading a rocket.

There are rail mounts for both MakerBeam and MakerBeam XL

The clamp is designed round a light stand with diameter of 35mm.

Additional Hardware:

for the clamps:
4x 15-20mm M6 Bolts
4x M6 Nuts (I used Nyloc's)
2x 5mm M3 Machine screw
2x M3 Bolt (i used Nyloc's)
2x 6mmx30mm or longer drop nose pin.

For the MakerBeam XL Rail:
4x 5mm M3 Machine screws
4x M3 Nuts (I used Square nuts)

For the MakerBeam Rail:

2x MakerBeam square headed bolts
2x M3 thumb Nuts

Printing:

I used PETG

0.2 layer hight
20-40% infil
3 perimeters
Some parts require support.

Print instructions

Category: Hobby Print Settings

Printer Brand: Prusa

Printer: i3 MK3

Rafts: No

Supports: Yes

Resolution: 0.2

Infill: 20-40%
