This monster machine is a fusion of Makerbot and Reprap, boasting a build with both as references. To make it unique, I experimented with using ball chain instead of belts for the drive system; after testing extensively, it finally worked flawlessly. Initially, a custom-made 440x300mm heating element didn't meet specifications, resulting in only 80°C - insufficient for ABS printing without curling. To solve this issue, I turned to wet sanding sheet (600 grits) for enhanced adhesion. The printer now uses prints from a Makerbot, but some parts have been remade on the prototype itself. Measuring 800x800x600mm in size with a 500x300x250mm build envelope and a heated platform at 80°C, this experimental beast is a work in progress. To use ball chain, edit the machines.XML file in the ReplicatorG folder to: axis id="x" length="300" maxfeedrate="5000" scale="4.45", axis id="y" length="300" maxfeedrate="5000" scale="4.4", and axis id="z" length="300" maxfeedrate="150" scale="270".
