I wanted a bigger spool that would fit comfortably under the monoprice spool holder without losing its height. The filament guide+riser was still causing problems with this particular spool, as it touched the frame and created friction with the original spool holder. It was also prone to moving towards the edge in an alarming manner. To address these issues, I designed a new spool that never tapers inward toward the center, thereby increasing its height by several centimeters. This additional clearance raised the spool off the frame, eliminating contact and friction with the original holder. A lip at the very end of the spool was added as an extra precaution to prevent it from falling off. Furthermore, I reduced the amount of material used in the new design by cutting out approximately 65% of the tube. This modification not only saved resources but also made the overall structure more efficient and effective.
