I've tried several thumbwheels, but they never quite felt right to me. The originals that came with my Monoprice Maker Select had a certain heft to them that the printed ones lacked. However, I did have two issues with those originals - my fingers would often slip on the spline outside of the wheel, and I'd frequently turn it the wrong way. This thumbwheel cover is my attempt to address these problems while still retaining the hefty feeling of the originals.
