This year I volunteered at Mini Maker Faire Madrid, where I had the opportunity to collaborate on an amazing project. The event was incredibly inspiring, and I wanted to capture as much of it as possible while working behind the scenes. To achieve this, I decided to repurpose the Maker Faire Robot as a camera holder for my Polaroid Cube camera. This ingenious solution worked flawlessly, and people absolutely loved it! They were fascinated by the robot's ability to take photos, and it quickly became one of the most popular attractions at the event. However, before we could use the robot as a camera, I had to fix the broken faces on the STL file using a sophisticated mesh algorithm. After experimenting with various options, I found that the Autodesk STL Tinkercad algorithm was the easiest and most effective solution. For those who want to modify the design, I've included a free CAD file of the solid robot. The original hack can be found at: https://tinkercad.com/things/39nks4tkwH7 I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this little project! If you decide to use it, please don't forget to share some photos with me. I'd love to see how you customize and use the robot. This clever hack is a simplified version of the original model, which can be found at: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40212 Additionally, this design was inspired by another amazing creation on Thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:40212 Post-Printing Tips: To keep your Polaroid Cube securely in place within the robot, I highly recommend gluing a small coin inside the hole as shown in the photos. I used an euro 1 cent coin, which works perfectly with the magnet on the Polaroid Cube. For easy transportation, you can attach a pendant cord to the robot by threading it through the four holes (two arms and two head pieces). To add extra stability, simply loop the cord twice around the neck of the robot.
