Maker Faire Robot Pen Holder

Maker Faire Robot Pen Holder

A quick job I did in XYZware, it's the generic Maker Faire robot but this time he can hold a pen (or pencil should you feel so inclined to be a rebel). The small bot is designed for lighter pens, while the large bot can handle more bulky and heavier pens. Although the small bot can still manage the weight, it will be less sturdy, and its arms won't support the pen, at least not with the pen I used, which curved upward slightly on both sides. There are two files available: the regular-sized bot and the large bot. Make sure to use the right file for your print job. Happy printing! Print Settings Printer: XYZ Printing daVinci Mini w Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 15% Honeycomb Notes: I used a Brim on both the small and large bots, as well as a low speed. Post-Printing Regular support and brim clean up are all that's required for this print job. A simple knife is used to push back and forth, breaking the support between the bot's legs. How I Designed This I created a 13 x 13 mm cylinder in XYZware, lined it up with what looked good on the regular robot's head, and then used the hole tool to cut out that section of the bot's head and hands.
